Private Instruction

Want to work with Carol solo?

With private instruction, yoga is tailored to your unique body, energy, and goals. Whether you’re simply more comfortable in a smaller setting, looking to build a sustainable home practice, or want to move in a way that feels more accessible and grounding than you can in a group class, working 1-on-1 is a great option. In my own practice, individual guidance has given me options and breakthroughs I couldn’t have accessed in a group setting.

Benefits include

  • Personalized sequences designed specifically for your body and goals, adapted as necessary during every practice and over time

  • Focused attention on breath, alignment, and flow

  • Practical tools for resilience, balance, and lifelong wellness

Something to consider

While we begin with movement and breath, sometimes the practice naturally evolves into a deeper inquiry about how we show up in the world. I’ve found this kind of reflection to be invaluable in my own growth—helping me uncover clarity and perspective when I needed it most. Because of my background in yoga philosophy, contemplative practice, and spiritual direction, I am uniquely equipped to serve as your partner—offering a space to deepen your practice, explore your inner life, and integrate those insights into your daily experience if your journey takes you in that direction.

How is this different from yoga therapy or talk therapy?

Private yoga instruction is not the same as yoga therapy. Yoga therapy takes a clinical, biomedical approach, often working alongside healthcare providers to address specific medical conditions with targeted practices. Private yoga, by contrast, is about tailoring traditional postures, breath, and movement to your unique needs and goals. It emphasizes personal growth, balance, and well-being rather than treatment of a diagnosis. The focus is on supporting your whole self—body, breath, and spirit—through a practice adapted just for you.

Likewise, spiritual direction is not the same as talk therapy. Therapy focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health challenges, often looking at past experiences to support emotional healing. Spiritual direction, on the other hand, is a contemplative practice that emphasizes attentive listening, reflection, and discernment of the movements of spirit in your life.

How it works

Get started with a complimentary 30-minute session. Together we’ll uncover your goals, explore what you’re seeking, and see if we’d be a good fit to work together.

Typically clients start with four 1-hour sessions, to give you a foundation in practice and develop a new habit. After that, clients are welcome to continue with four-session packages or individual sessions.

Cost:

  • $300 for four 1-hour sessions (to be completed within two months)

  • $100 for individual 1-hour sessions

I want these offerings to be accessible. Pricing is variable, and we can talk about an approach that works for your circumstances.
