Spiritual Direction and Private Instruction
Want to work with Carol solo?
I offer both spiritual direction and private yoga instruction, either as standalone sessions or combined to support your whole self.
Spiritual direction
Spiritual direction offers a supportive space to listen more deeply to your life. Despite its name, there’s no “direction.” Instead, through guided reflection and compassionate presence, you can explore your inner world, clarify your values, and discern what brings meaning.
I’ve found this kind of one-on-one reflection to be invaluable in my own growth—helping me uncover clarity and perspective when I needed it most.
Benefits include
Creating space to pause and listen inward
Gaining clarity during transitions or uncertainty
Deepening your connection to spirit, purpose, and self
Developing practices that sustain you over time
Something to consider
Spiritual direction is not the same as therapy! Therapy focuses on diagnosing and treating mental health challenges, often looking at past experiences to support emotional healing. Spiritual direction, on the other hand, is a contemplative practice that emphasizes attentive listening, reflection, and discernment of the movements of spirit in your life. It does not seek to analyze or solve problems, but rather to deepen awareness, nurture connection, and support your unfolding journey of meaning and purpose. Each is valuable in its own way.
Private yoga instruction
With private instruction, yoga is tailored to your unique body, energy, and goals. Whether you’re simply more comfortable in a smaller setting, seeking to build strength, improve breath capacity, or explore restorative practices, one-on-one sessions help you move with confidence and ease.
In my own practice, individual guidance has given me insights and breakthroughs I couldn’t have possibly accessed in a group setting.
Benefits include
Personalized sequences designed for your needs
Focused attention on breath, alignment, and flow
Tools for resilience, balance, and lifelong wellness
Support in adapting yoga to meet you exactly where you are
Something to consider
Private yoga instruction is not the same as yoga therapy. Yoga therapy takes a clinical, biomedical approach, often working alongside healthcare providers to address specific medical conditions with targeted practices. Private yoga, by contrast, is about tailoring traditional postures, breath, and movement to your unique needs and goals. It emphasizes personal growth, balance, and well-being rather than treatment of a diagnosis. The focus is on supporting your whole self—body, breath, and spirit—through a practice adapted just for you.
While I’ve taken yoga therapy courses, I am not working as a yoga therapist.
